Job Description

GALT Aerospace is looking for a seasoned professional to be our next Senior Business Development/Capture Manager. This position requires the ability rapidly obtain an active SECRET clearance and previous relevant experience with DoD Communities. Particular expertise in Military Aviation, Communications, and Command and Control would be very beneficial in rapidly integrating into the GALT team.

In this role, you will focus on Enterprise Strategy, capture opportunities that meet GALT’s strategic plan requirements and management of business development and capture management processes and teams. In addition to assisting in the development of the strategic plan, you will also discover and coordinate short term capture initiatives with the Director of Growth and Business Development. You will use your expertise to address critical customer needs while growing the business and building on the history and success of GALT Aerospace.  You will be expected to be directly involved in all phases of Business Development from shaping, to capture, to proposal writing.

  • Develop an overall customer-focused strategic plan focused on both short and long-term growth opportunities

  • Identify and establish key industry partnerships to maximize new business growth for our key customers

  • Collaborate with GALT Engineering Leadership to create technology roadmaps & related Independent Research and Development (IRAD) projects to create discriminators necessary to develop new business

  • Maintain accountability to shape and win new business through a balanced focus on customer value, the competitive environment, and the corporation's best interests

  • Develop and maintain effective customer, teammate, and internal relationships

  • Actively support the capture and proposal teams

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required

  • 10+ years experience with DoD Customer

  • 5+ years experience in Business Development

  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) personnel security clearance is required

  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Strong critical and analytical thinking

  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task, and work well under pressure

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Secret Clearance preferred

  • Top Secret/SCI Eligible Clearance preferred

  • Master’s Degree Preferred

  • Experience in military networks, datalinks, command and control, military aviation, etc.

  • Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to build strong internal and external networks and teams

  • Success with identifying, shaping, and winning new business

  • Success with development and growth of new business pipelines

  • Demonstrated experience communicating/briefing executives, managers, employees, and customers to maintain a sustainable working relationship

  • Experience in Business Development to include opportunity identification, developing business cases, and capture management

  • Demonstrated ability to serve in the role of a subject matter expert with presentation experience

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to sit or stand for 4 hours at a time

  • Must be able and willing to travel across the country for up to 30% of work time
